History: It has been used for over 3,000 years in Chinese and Indian medicine for urinary problems, reducing body fat, intestinal problems, pulmonary diseases and fevers. First brought to the West by Alexander the Great's soldiers. In Arab countries, Turkish, coffee is a mixture of roasted coffee beans and roasted green cardamon. It is the cardomon that gives the coffee its distinct scent. Used throughout the world as a cooking herb, especially in curry and spice mixtures.

Characteristics: A top note with a strong aroma, Cardamom Essential Oil is sweet, spicy and almost balsamic in fragrance.

Clinical Studies:

Indications: Used for anorexia, colic, cramp, dyspepsia, flatulence, gripping pains, halitosis, heartburn, indigestion, vomiting, mental fatigue, nerve strain and to improve physical and sexual strength. Used to warm, improve circulation and digestion, soothe the intestines, relieve flatulence, uplift moods, energize, improve mental clarity and physical strength, increase sexual strength, relieve pain. Antiseptic, antispasmodic, aperitive, aphrodisiac, calmative, carminative, cephalic, digestive, diuretic.

Safety:  Nontoxic. Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
