Compounded Essential Oil Geranium Rose Compound. When you're talking about true essential oils, there is Geranium oil and then there is Rose oil, the two should not be confused and the terms really should not be combined together. Most typically it is used to refer to a common compound (a blended product) For example, the Geranium (Rose) Egyptian compound, while it does contain some natural geranium oil, is typically blended with other rose type aromachemicals.
The matter becomes even more confusing due to people using the term "Rose Geranium" oil to refer to the oil coming from Pelargonium roseum which comes from Madagascar (and a few other places) and is chemically very similar to P. graveolens but typically has a slightly rosier scent. We have tried to be up front about what it actually is and if you note we do not associate a Latin botanical name with the item and it is not a part of our essential oils list. The GCMS can prove its not an essential oil because the analysis is quite obvious.
None the less ~ a wonderful aromatic oil Compunded Essential Oils are oils that have had components either removed (by redistillation) and/or added for reasons of safety, odor improvement or flavor improvement
