  • Acne

    Acne is chronic inflammation of the skin.

    The essential oils may be used in a 3%- 15% dilution in a suitable carrier oil.

  • Boils & Carbuncles

    A boil is an inflamed, infected lump, on or under the skin, as a result of a staphylococcus infection.  A carbuncle is a close collection of boils fulled with pus.

    Use a hot compress on the area.

  • Burns

    A burn is a type of injury to flesh or skin caused by heat, electricity, chemicals, friction, or radiation. Care must be taken considering the type of burn.

    The essential oils may be used in a 3% dilution in a suitable carrier oil and applied to the skin.

  • Eczema & Dermatitis

    Ecxema is a non-infectious inflammatory condition of the skin. Dermatitis eczema is caused by an allergen or direct contact with chemicals or other irritants.

    Wet dressings or the essential oils may be used in a 3% dilution in a suitable carrier oil.

  • Herpes Simplex

    Herpes simplex is a common infection, also known as a cold sore, is caused by H.simplex virus which can cause a vesicular rash anywhere on the skin or mucous membranes.

    Add 18 drops of essential oil(s)  to 5ml of alcohol and dab at first onset of a blister.

  • Pressure Sores

    Pressure sores, also known as bed sores, are deep ulcers that form when pressure is excerted over bony areas of the body, restricting circulation and leading to necrosis in the overlying tissue.

    A trial wound healing blend applied at least once a day for skin tears and twice a day for pressure ulcers and venous ulcers (Guba) The formula was applied to dry gauze and then taped over the wound.  Proper wound management protocals are followed.  Lavender, Sage, German Chamomile and calendula-infused blended in a base of borage seed, flaxseed, calophyllum inophyllum and shea butter.

  • Psoriasis

    Psoriasis is a common benign, acute or chronic and recurrent inflammatory disease characterized by dry, well-circumscribed, silvery, scaling papules and plaques of various sizes.

    Oils may be used as an inhalation, in a bath (mix with a surfactant) or prepared in a .5 - 1% massage blend.

  • Pruritus

    Pruritus is another term for itching.

    The essential oils may be used in a .5 -1% dilution in a suitable carrier oil(jojoba) or with a dispersant in a bath.

  • Scabies

    Scabies is a highly infectious skin infestation caused by a tiny mite called Saroptes scabiei.

    Wash the area in a warm bath and dry thoroughly.  Then apply an ointment containing tea tree oil.

  • Tinea

    Tinea is the name of a group of diseases caused by a fungus. Types of tinea include ringworm, athlete's foot and jock itch. These infections are usually not serious, but they can be uncomfortable.
